Gujarat Lions Team Squad: The Gujarat Lions (often abbreviated as GL) are a franchise cricket team based in the city of Rajkot, Gujarat that will play in the Indian Premier League from 2016 for only two seasons. The team will serve as one of the replacements for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who were both suspended for two seasons due to alleged illegal betting by their respective owners.The franchise is owned by Intex Technologies.
Rajkot team has been officially named “Gujarat Lions” is one of the two new franchises brought in for the next two IPL seasons due to Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals getting suspended. The official name for Rajkot franchise has been announced and they will be known as “Gujarat Lions” while Suresh Raina has been confirmed as the captain for upcoming season where they will be playing home matches Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
Rajkot has already spent Rs 39 crores to draft 5 players so far which means their remaining budget is Rs. 27 crores. IPL teams can spent anywhere between minimum Rs 40 crores to max Rs. 66 crores every season.
